My skin care regimen to get an even skin tone

My name is Khalua. I am an esthetician and I adore what I do. I would love to help more people get the skin they can be proud of without makeup. If anyone has any stories to tell please share. I love to hear how people overcame skin issues. I other love is Fashion. I live for fashion and can't get enough of it.
My skin is different from day to day and I am obsessed with product so I use what i need at that time. I have a degree so I def do more that you have to. Right now my skin care system is Aveda Embrightenment System. I like lots of other ethnic people have issues with Hyperpigmentation. (Darker pigmented skin) I started the line with just the cleanser and serum and I it did drastically diminish my problem areas so I went and got the rest of the line. I am about to start a series of mandelic peels to speed up this process.

Mandelic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) extracted from bitter almond that has been studied extensively as a treatment for common skin concerns as photoaging, acne and melasma, with additional focus on use as a pre- and post-laser treatment. Mandelic acid is an aromatic AHA and its molecular size is smaller than any other aromatic AHA, making it the most effective in skin care products; however its size is smaller than that of glycolic acid, the most popular AHA in skin care, making it much less of an irritant.

Mandelic acid works on two levels: as a mild exfoliant and as an antibacterial. It has been clinically proven to help eliminate hyperpigmentation in the skin, such as Melasma, as well as acne and oily skin. It has also been shown to eliminate fine lines and wrinkles from the skin. In stronger formulas, when administered by a professional, Mandelic makes a great chemical peel and is less irritating than a glycolic peel with very similar results.

  1. Hello!! I just read your hiperpigmentation post and feel as if you and I are speaking on the same level. I'm an American born woman, born to two beautiful West African parents, live in Washington, DC, and am obsessed with skin care. Where are you located? I just stumbled upon your blog from "The Starving Stylist's" blog. Don't you just love him???? My blog is anokosvision.blogspot.com. I'm new to this game, so please forgive how dry the blog is. Currently, I use Shu Uemura's green oil cleanser, Murad's AHA/BHA's Exfoliating Cleanser, and Cle De Peau's cleanser, serum, and moisturizer. As you can see, I'm a product junkie too!!! I have some scars that I'm working on trying to lighten up and it's totally annoying. I've used Vitamin E oil and Ambi. Help!!
